Hand Painting Show at Guerrero Gallery

This last Saturday my business partner Matt, his wife Kristin, and I went to the opening at Guerrero Gallery for a show called An American Language which featured various sign hand painters from around the country.  Martin Sign Company friend and fellow hand painter Bob Dewhurst was in the show.

I thought this show is great since I started as a hand painter back in Iowa and it really is an art form.  It’s takes skill not only with a brush, but you have to understand signs as well.  This show was inspiring and gave me quite a few ideas to bring back to some of my clients.  There was a bit of drama when Bob’s old swing stage that was on display in the middle of the gallery snapped in half when too many people sat on it.

The Guerrero Gallery is only a couple blocks from our shop on Florida Street.  If you are interested in the show you can look them up online or just drop by at 2700 19th Street, San Francisco, CA 94110.

Enjoy these photos from the show.
