Exhibition Signage for Artists and Galleries

Make an impact with clean and considered signage.

The last thing an artist thinks about in the weeks approaching a big show is their signage and marketing materials. They’re normally much too busy putting the finishing touches on their work than to worry about putting their name on the wall. What a lost opportunity! There are many ways that we at Martin Sign Company can help artists and galleries with promoting exhibitions, identifying works, and producing quality signage for the viewing public.

Vinyl window and wall graphics

When it comes to exhibition signage, vinyl graphics are perfect for lettering and logos on windows and drywall. We can go from design to fabrication to installation within a couple days, just in time for the show! Whether we work from provided vector graphics (.ai, .pdf, or .eps), or design them ourselves, the options are endless in regards to size, color, and text. The most popular ways that vinyl is utilized is for the gallery name and hours on front window or door, the name of the exhibition and dates on the walls or windows, and artist’s names near their work. We’ve also seen vinyl as more of an integral part of the exhibition, in the form of informational and directional signage, supporting text mounted on the wall, or colorful graphics custom designed for the show.

Identifying signage for individual works

For exhibitions featuring many artists, or those installed in a public space or museum, it may be necessary to provide signage identifying individual works. There are many options depending on the environment, from clear acrylic plaques with subsurface graphics for painted drywall, to cast bronze plaques mounted on posts for public sculptures. From a quantity of one plaque to one hundred, Martin Sign Company can design and fabricate identifying plaques that match the look and feel of the environment on which they are installed.

Signage as art

On top of vinyl graphics and plaques, we can help with many of your art fabrication projects. Graphics can be digitally printed or screen-printed on many different surfaces in a wide array of colors and finishes. We can also route or laser-cut your designs in diverse materials like acrylic, aluminum, stainless steel, and MDO. And if you need something as simple as a run of posters, we can help you with that as well.

If you have questions or ideas of ways to use signage in your work or exhibition please give us a call at Martin Sign Company or contact us through our contact page.
