GL Planning & Design Gets Some New 3D Sign Letters

Dimensional Letters San Francisco3D Sign Letters San Francisco

Just installed yesterday at GL Planning & Design architectural firm were some brand new 3d sign letters made out of 1/2″ thick clear acrylic. The client explored many options for their dimensional letters.  They explored adhesive back vinyl graphics, custom painted PVC, wood, and front painted acrylic and all in different thicknesses. They called on Martin Sign Company to provide some material samples and pricing on the fabrication of these letters.

In the end the choice came down to the 1/2″ thick back painted clear acrylic. The effect that the back painted acrylic does is that it makes the letters look like glass. This gives the letters and the logo a rich feeling and the custom PMS color blue that GL used for the back painted color really pops in contrast to the light stain of the wood. These letters are flush mounted to wood so they are not spaced off the wall, but they have quite a bit of dimension being that the logo is at a 1/2″ thick. The smaller letters are at 1/4″ thick but have the same treatment as the logo type.

This project is a good example of the creative process at work.  GL Planning & Design called upon Martin Sign Company to deliver samples, quotes, and creative options to come up with the best solution for their sign. With all the homework done and exhausted the best sign and solution was installed on time and on budget.
